I would like to wake up tomorrow happy, healthy, and refreshed. Ready for another full day of life in grattitude, truth, integrity, and blessing. I live as a blessing to all as much as I can. I hope that this life of service may continue to open into ever greater capacities of love and forgiveness and healing within, without, and among all living beings. May all beings be blessed and happy.

When I was 4 till 8 years old, my family had a cabin in the sierra nevada mountains of California. We would drive "forever" (probably 5 hours?) from our home in southern LA county into the mountains for holidays and occassional long weekends. I can still remember rolling down the car window and sticking my face into the wind to catch the crisp scent of the ponderosa pines (still my favorite smell in the world) as we ascended the twisty mountain roads. White christmasses we spent there snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and skipping snowballs across the frozen pond. Summers we rode motorcycles around the logging roads, hunted for morrel mushrooms, fished, hiked and sat on our porch watching the fog roll into the valley below in the evenings. This is also the first place I remember my mom baking fresh homemade bread (a passion I carry on to this day).

The hardest vow I've taken was to be honest and follow my heart as best I can. I began this journey after a vision quest in the Utah desert 3 years ago and it has called forth resources of courage I had no idea resided in my heart. I remake this promise every morning. Every breath when I remember. It has also brought me unfathomable gifts. It has served me well, and I highly recommend it.

I want to be more thankful for the "plans" in life that do not turn out the way I had hoped, but that then open up into much more amazing blessings than I could have ever imagined alone.
